- The battery gauge on your PDA will not accurately represent a full charge on the Charge-N-Run(tm) battery pack unless the battery kind/type is updated correctly. This is because most PDAs ship with the PalmOS battery gauge setting set for alkaline type batteries and the Charge-N-Run battery pack uses NiMH battery technology. To select the best setting for your new rechargeable battery pack, see the Battery Panel application below. It is HIGHLY recommended and uniquely tuned for the Charge-N-Run battery pack.

My setup:
Disk1 SCSI1
Disk2 SCSI2
Disk3 IDE1
I did the following
1. Remove BM from SCSI1, as there can only be ONE BM
2. Attempt to install on SCSI1, failure, only offers Disk 1 or 2
3. Restore BM on SCSI1, I had add every single bootable
volume/partition manually to BM as LVM doesn\'t keep this in memory!
4. Shutdown, unhook SCSI2, reboot
Layout:
Disk1 SCSI1
Disk2 IDE1
5. Remove BM and install on Disk2, now IDE1, at beginning of drive
where LVM left 7MB free from the beginning.
6. Add all bootable volumes/partitions again to BM (don\'t foget or you
can\'t boot any OS anymore) I have about 7 of those entries:
OpenDOS, 3 different OS/2 / eCS, 3 Linux
7. shutdown, -> BIOS: change order of boot sequence to IDE then SCSI
Layout in BIOS
Disk1 IDE1
Disk2 SCSI1
8. boot eCS, BM shows all bootable partitions nicely as it should.
go into LVM, oha! we still have
Layout in LVM
Disk1 SCSI1
Disk2 IDE1
9. Edit config.sys to change order of DANIS506 and SCSIXXX.add driver!
reboot
10. boot eCS: great! order is
Layout in LVM
Disk1 IDE1
Disk2 SCSI1
11. I probably could hookup SCSI2 if I wanted, but right now that is
not necessary.
Side remarks:
a.) I had to boot into my Linux systems by floppy, as the
LILO now has the wrong setup memorized for which type of disk has
which numer in the BIOS when booting. (changing the order of ide
and scsi), but after that change of lilo.conf and one run of lilo
it works like a charm.
b.) Creating a Volume from an existing partition with linux on it,
does not affect the partition itself and it can safely be used by
linux afterwards, the only thing that is destroyed is the
information in the head of the partition where, e.g. you could put
LILO (which then is started from BM), so one run of lilo is
necessary after adding this volume. BM only supports booting of
volumes not partitions, AFAIK.

SUBJECT: [Linux-usb-users] Genesys-based CF card reader working -- please incorporate patch
This patch also works for my SIIG USB CF US2256 (GenesysLogic GL641 USB/CF
Bridge),
which is a Zio-like CF reader that sells for $20 ($10 if you get the rebate)
at Fry\'s. I gave details on the device in in linux-usb-users digest #641.
I heartily recommend that Andrew\'s patch be added to the kernel:
